MAE 494: Design Project

Portable Wind Tunnel

MAE 494 is a project-based class where students are tasked with designing and building a semester long assignment.

I was given the task of building a portable wind tunnel, which is a machine capable of generating high speed laminar flow along with a contrast agent.

I used 3D printing along with milling and turning to create this device. There is an Arduino controlled motor adjusting the angle of tested pieces, and a fog machine with a settling tank which provides smooth consistent contrast agent.

I was given an A in this course as the project went off without a hitch.
