MAE 177: CAD introduction

A class in my freshman year required that students learn PTC Creo to model assignments in 3D. The class’s final project was to CAD a mechanical device.

I chose to model my old 3D printer as it was mechanical, comprised of simple components, and I had access to it without limitations on taking it apart.

This example demonstrates my ability to master a new program and my desire to go above and beyond what is expected of me.

PTC Creo is not my favorite CAD program to learn, honestly, I would prefer 3D modeling with the 2005 Lego StarWars character editor. That said I enjoyed adding another program to my skill set and have used Creo when I have needed to take advantage of its wide range of functionalities that other programs lack.
