I made this longboard a few years ago. It is carbon fiber and wood plastics along with an aluminum plate. The plate was intended to offset the poor tension properties of the plastic.

The board has a mild curve to it and metal pins connecting the plates and the frame.

The assembly is covered in fiberglass to keep it together. Its major design flaw is that the heat generated from sun exposure is enough to reduce most of the structural integrity of the board.

Initially, the plan was oak plates with aluminum framing, however, this way of building it was substantially cheaper.
